If you are in the process of planning a wedding, you know how important the invitations are. You have some of the guidelines to follow but not sure about the wedding response cards wording.
Here are 5 guidelines that might help you
- Your response cards should have a date that they need to be returned by. You can write this date out or you can simply put it on numerically. If it is a very formal wedding it should be written out.
- You should have a line that a name can be written on. Again if it is a formal wedding it normally has an M just before the line. This is form Mr. or Mrs. etc. Below this will be a line that will have number of guests written next to it.
- The response card is also the place to offer food choices. If you are having a sit down menu you may offer 2 or 3 choices. You would write the choices with a line before them to allow your guests to write the number of each entree.
- The address that the wedding response cards are to be mailed to should be the bride's family. If the groom's family is hosting the wedding this could change. If the bride and groom are hosting the wedding and live together it is customary to have just the bride's name on the return address.
- You do need to put a stamp on the wedding response cards envelopes. It is part of your responsibility to pay for the postage for these. You may however consider a postcard to mail back. These are less expensive and postage is less. Putting the postcard rate stamp on is also part of your expense.
You may choose different wording for the response card. Here are 5 samples that can be used.
- Kindly respond by ____(date) / M______________ / ___ persons will attend.
