Starting a Catering Business - Some of the Requirements You May Not Have Thought Of!

Once you have decided that you want to start a Catering Business you need to look at what various requirements your business needs to satisfy or a least consider, before you can start. These may include Business & License Requirements, insurance and capital.

The basics: for any business you need management, planning and organizing skills. Are their suppliers in your area and do they supply in the quantities you need? At first the size of your orders may be too small.

.Business & License Requirements: Depending on where you live you may require a catering license. You may need to do a course or prove you are knowledgeable on safe food preparation and employee cleanliness. For the catering license you may be required to have, business registration, worker's compensation insurance, unemployment insurance and business insurance which includes food-related liabilities. You may also need to work from a licensed kitchen. To start with it may be easier to rent a licensed kitchen. Try contacting churches, halls, bakeries, lodges or restaurants about renting their kitchen during their off times. When using other peoples facilities you may also need to provide proof of liability insurance and a business registration.

Initial investment required: You may choose to start small with the equipment you already have. However as your business grows you will need to buy more equipment and supplies. If you decide to work from home you may need to spend at least $1500. If you choose to have other premises and install a specialized kitchen, then capital of$45,000 to $85,000, would be required. For more information see Starting a catering business

Your market: . When you start your catering business you need to decide if you are going to specialize in one large niche such as corporate functions, wedding receptions or formal dinner events. Or more relaxed family and small functions such as birthdays etc.

Wedding Gift List Etiquette

Gift list etiquette can be confusing and conflicting - partly because wedding gift lists are a relatively new phenomenon. We've answered some of the most common questions which couples ask about wedding gift list etiquette.

We're not sure about having a gift list because we don't want our guests to feel obliged to buy us a gift. What should we do?

Guests understand when couples get married it's because they love each other - not because they're looking for wedding gifts! If you decide to have a gift list you can choose your wording carefully to ensure that your guests don't feel obliged to buy a gift. For example, a popular phrase to use is "It's your presence, not your present, that we want!"

Even if you don't want your guests to buy gifts for you, you'll find that most people still want to give a gift as they feel it's the right thing to do - and they want to mark the occasion with a gift. Without a gift list to guide your guests you could find yourselves inundated with gifts which you don't really want. If you really don't want any gifts for yourselves, why not consider charity gifts? Or you could ask for tree gifts which will grow and mature (just like your marriage!) as well as offsetting carbon emissions.

Should we send details of our gift list with our wedding invitations?

When couples started using gift lists it was not accepted etiquette to include details of a gift list with a wedding invitation. However, as gift lists have become increasingly popular, times have changed and so has the etiquette. It has become much more the norm - and it's simpler - to let guests know where a gift list has been set up and saves guests trying to contact the bridal party to find out. It's highly unlikely that guests will take offense. Most gift list companies can provide you with invitation inserts which you can send to guests.

If you don't feel comfortable including your gift list information with invitations and you've got a wedding website, this is a great - and discrete - way for guests to get the all-important details about your wedding and your gift list. All couples who register with Nearly Married get a free wedding website which they can add lots of info and pictures to and their gift list is automatically integrated into their wedding website.

Should our evening guests be given details of our gift list?

If you don't expect your evening guests to give you a gift, don't include information about your gift list with their invitations. If you've got a wedding website this is a great way for them to find out if you have a gift list, without having to ask.

Is it OK to ask for money for general use or our honeymoon?

Many couples already have the traditional household items which were often given as gifts such as toasters, kettles, towels and bedding. That's why couples often feel that it would suit them better to ask for money which they can use towards something special, such as their honeymoon. If you're saving towards a deposit on a house, furniture or a new kitchen and would appreciate money towards that why not ask for contributions on your gift list? It is becoming far more the norm for couples to ask for money - but our advice is to let guests know what the money will be spent on so that your guests feel that they've contributed towards a specific item rather than giving money which could be spent on household bills or your entertainment expenses! The Nearly Married gift list service lets you customise gifts of money with your own gift name, description, price and picture so you can ask for anything you want!

We don't need household items and we're asking for other types of gifts on our gift list - how should we explain this to guests?

Many couples enclose an information sheet when they send out their invitations. The information sheet could have all sorts of important information such as directions, transport and accommodations options and information about the gift list. You might be able to add this info to your gift list if your provider offers this option. If you've got a wedding website this is another great place to add this info.

Suggested Gift List Wording

If you want to explain to your guests that they don't have to buy you a gift, or if you want to tell them a bit about your gift list here are some suggestions:

  • Please don't feel obliged to give us a gift - all we really want is to have a lovely wedding which we can share with our friends and family.

  • Your presence is more important than a present!

  • You probably know that we usually like to do things differently - so it might not be a surprise to you that our gift list is a little bit different too!

  • As we already have a lot of household items, we hope you won't mind us asking for money instead of traditional wedding gifts. We're planning to spend the money on...

  • To celebrate our wedding we're going on a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon which will give us memories we'll always remember. Our honeymoon gift list shows some of the trips we've got planned so you can see how we plan to use your kind wedding gift.

  • We've decided to set up a charity gift list. If you would like to give a gift, this is a perfect way for our wedding to help others less fortunate than us.

Do It Yourself Wedding Invitations

Your wedding invitation is the first indication of the style of your wedding. This will be your guests' first glimpse at your big day! Hopefully this guide will help you plan your wedding invitations.

Parts of a Wedding Invitation

Wedding invitations include various enclosures. The number of enclosures depends on the nature of your wedding, as well as your budget for wedding stationery.

Outer envelope - This envelope is formally addressed to the guest and holds the inner envelope and all its enclosures.

Inner envelope - This envelope is place inside the outer envelope and holds the wedding invitation, which holds the additional enclosures.

Invitation - This is the actually invitation that provides all the details of the wedding.

Reception card - This card is usually included if the reception is located at a different site than the ceremony. Some couples choose to include the reception information on the actual invitation to reduce stationery costs.

Response card - This card is place in a self-addressed stamped envelope. Your guests indicate their acceptance or regrets. The response card should list the RSVP deadline.

Map - This is an option insert that is helpful, particularly if you have a large number of out-of-town guest.

Wording of the Wedding Invitation

Dates and times must be spelled out.

Examples: the twenty-first of December (not December 21), half after seven o'clock in the evening (not 7:30pm)

Only Mr., Mrs. And Jr. and state names should be abbreviated.

If one set of parents is hosting the wedding, list their names at the beginning of the invitation. If both sets are hosting, list the bride's parents first. If the bride and groom are hosting, begin with the request line first and state parent's names after the bride and groom's names.

Printing a Wedding Invitation

The cost of printing a wedding invitation can vary tremendously depending on the printing and paper options you select.

Engraving - This raised print is pressed through the back of the paper. This is the most formal and expensive choice.

Thermography - This process results in raised print, but it is not pressed through the back of the paper. This is slightly less expensive than engraving.

Lithography - The print is not raised. This option is less expensive than thermography.

Laser printing - This is the least expensive of the four options. The print is produced on a quality laser printer.

When choosing your wedding invitations, also consider that colored ink, bulky or specialty paper, custom designs or other accents such as ribbons will increase the cost of the invitation.

Don't forget about postage for both the invitation and the response card when determining your wedding stationery budget.

If you are planning your wedding on a small budget, you can consider printing your own wedding invitations. Most office supply stores offer invitation kits that provide everything you need to print your wedding invitations at home on a laser computer.

Picking Out Your Lesbian Wedding Rings

From engagement rings to picking out wedding bands for your lesbian wedding to presenting them at your lesbian wedding itself, the outward statement of rings is a cultural criteria.

Engagement rings are usually a surprise. An event filled with anticipation of excitement of acceptance and dread of rejection. By this point in time, you are past this stage. So we will progress to the wedding band stage.

First of all are your bands going to be identical or an expression of individuality? Then set a price range of what you can spend on them. Be reasonable and don't put yourself deep in debt over them. Your love is in your heart, not on the cost of your lesbian wedding bands.

Are you both going to go window shopping at jewelry stores? Are you going to design them or is someone else? Are your wedding bands going to be custom-made. Do you have enough love to have them custom-made?

Will you have special sayings with your names and date engraved on the inside of your wedding bands? It is all up to your own tastes as to what to pick. Let no one force any other decisions on you.

These are just some of the things for you to answer for your wedding rings.

Maybe take a trip to check out special jewelers. If you have some ideas, they can work with you.

You can find a local jeweler or go to Provincetown MA. Many of the artists there are jewelers who do beautiful work. Above all, take your time, don't be rushed. Take some day or weekend excursion exploring stores for your special lesbian wedding bands. Enjoy yourselves to make this a memorable experience to remember forever.

September Wedding Invitations and Ideas Celebrate the Best of the Fall Season

Not only is September time to go back to school but it can be a great time to get married. The too-hot days of summer have passed and you're left with warm afternoons and cool evenings, perfect for your wedding reception. Fall colors lean more to the rich earthy tones and your menu can be a hearty fall feast.

Invitations
Autumn wedding invitations can range in colors from a warm yellow to deep wine to earthy reds and browns. As the leaves are changing colors you can match those colors with your wedding invitations. Whether you choose a classical and elegant invention or a modern look, you can use these colors of the season for your September wedding.

September has a couple of holidays you should look out for. Labor Day is the first Monday in September. This might be a great time to have your wedding and take advantage of the extra day off. If you plan to have our wedding around Labor Day, just make sure to note that with your wedding invitation as some might not realize the date of the holiday.

Rosh Hashanah (September 19-20, 2009 and September 9-10, 2010) and Yom Kippur (September 28, 2009 and September 18, 2010) will occur in September also. While these are never on the same day on a conventional calendar, you should be aware of these holidays as your Jewish guests may not be able to attend a wedding if it falls on any of these days.

September is also back to school time. If you're planning on including children as flower girls or ring bearers, you should talk to their parents early to make sure they can make it to your wedding.

Ceremony and reception
While the days may still be warm, the nights in September can be chilly. Your best bet is either an early outdoor ceremony earlier in the afternoon and then a reception inside or an all indoor ceremony. Make a note in your wedding invitation about your ceremony and reception plans so guests can be prepared and dress accordingly.

Pepper some autumn flavors in your reception menu. A salad with roasted pumpkin seeds or a butternut squash soup can be a perfect start to an autumn meal. Entrees should be hot and hearty to keep your guests warm during the start of this chilly season. A coffee bar might be a nice touch to enjoy with your wedding cake, too.

At the bar, stock a couple of hearty red wines. You might also want to make your signature cocktail a warm drink - a hot apple cider perhaps? Or offer the apple cider as a chilled drink while the sun is still up and then offer a hot apple cider as an after dinner treat.

The chill in the air in September can be the perfect way to make your reception a warm cozy affair. Take your cues from the colors of the season and you'll have a wonderful fall reception. Be mindful not to over lap with the other special occasions in September and you'll have a wedding reception that will be long remembered.

Wedding Anniversary Party Invitations

Anniversary Party Invitations to Celebrate Your Special Party!

If you need to find Anniversary Party Invitations for that special event you're throwing for friends, family members, or someone else close to you, take a few things into consideration when making your choices.

Anniversary Party Cards: Picking a Theme

When throwing an event, you probably have decided on some type of theme for the event. For example, if you are celebrating a 25th silver anniversary or 50th golden anniversary get together you might choose a color theme of silver or gold, respectively. A similar idea is to match the theme with the traditional wedding gift for that event. Regardless of which theme you choose, anniversary party cards should match that theme so guests will get some hint of what to expect from the event.

Anniversary Party Wedding Invitations: Location

Obviously, you can't start sending out wedding anniversary invitations until you've selected a location for your anniversary wedding party. The good news is choosing a location isn't difficult. There are many options available, including party rooms at restaurants, private homes, botanical gardens or public zoos, hotels, and more. Before choosing a location for your event, make sure you know your budget and the size of your guest list.

Party Invitations: Personalized Cards

The wedding anniversary party invitations are important for the event. You want to choose ones that are unique and that will make an impression on the guests. Simply going to a local card store or discount retailer and choosing the first bulk party anniversary invitations you find isn't a good idea, even if you want to save money.

Instead, you should go online and look for the anniversary parties wedding invitations or anniversary announcements you want. For one, you'll find a much wider selection, such as photo anniversary invitations. Brick and mortar stores are limited in the designs they can carry but that's not the case with online vendors. Additionally, the costs are much lower. Because of the lower overhead, you can purchase high-quality cards at an affordable price online. Plus, you can choose your invitations from the convenience of your home.

Regardless of where you purchase the anniversary party cards, make sure you have them early. It's customary to mail anniversary party invitations at least two weeks before the date of the event to give people plenty of time to make arrangements for attending. Also when planning an anniversary party invite only people who are close to the couple and who they would enjoy having at the affair.

Wedding Anniversary Invitations: Refreshments

One of the other big planning areas you'll need to worry about is refreshments. If you're on a budget, consider keeping refreshments at a minimum. Serve some cake and punch but nothing more. For casual parties, you could have a barbecue or a cookout. Lunchmeat and cheese trays are a nice idea for an early afternoon celebration. If you're planning on having a formal wedding anniversary party, hire caterers to set up a buffet or to serve your guests. When the wedding anniversary party is over, you want all of your guests to be able to look at those invitations and remember the great time they had celebrating a special couple.

Setting the Mood for Your Wedding With Unique Wedding Invitations

Few engaged couples realize it but, your wedding invitations are the first view your guests will have of your wedding. Taking the time to choose invitations that are as unique, as you are and your wedding will be, can set the tone for your wedding well in advance of the first guest's arrival. While invitations do not have to be expensive you do want them to match the theme and the ambiance of your upcoming wedding.

Know What You Like

The best way to choose the type of invitations you like is to look at as many different styles of wedding invitations as possible. Make a note of what you like in the invitations that impress you and then find a way to incorporate those elements into your own invitations.

•Textures are one thing you may want to consider incorporating into your invitations. Textures can make an invitation stand out and look truly chic and elegant if you are planning a formal wedding.

•Material is another thing to consider. Many modern wedding invitations incorporate real material into their invitations with wonderful and startling results.

•Adding a little metallic colour such as gold, silver or bronze can make for an extremely chic invitation while using bright primary colours in your invitations can set the tone for a fun or funky wedding.

Matching the Theme of the Invitation to the Theme of Your Wedding

Once you know what you like in the way of materials and colours then the next step are to match the theme of your invitation to the theme of your wedding. There are several ways in which you can do this for example if your wedding is having a seasonal theme and you want a bit of texture in your invitations then you can add embossed snowflakes, fall leaves, flowers, or sea shells to your invitation to give it a feel of the season.

You can do the same with a beach wedding or a chic romantic wedding adding the feel of gritty sand or lace to your wedding invitation will give a hint of your wedding theme and add the uniqueness you are looking for to your wedding invitations.

Know What Your Are Getting

When having your invitations made, talk to various shops and detail your design requirements and ask if they will give you a free sample. Most professional shops take great pride in their work and honestly want to give you the exact invitation that you want and will be happy to create a sample for your approval. You can then compare these samples and choose the one that will truly set the tone for your wedding.

Consider Your Budget

While everyone wishes they could have the wedding they want without regard to cost the reality is that most weddings have a budget. If budget considerations are important then talk to the professionals from several shops and explain your budgetary requirements and get some idea what they can and can't do to help you get the invitations you want at the price you can afford. This will help you in making choices when designing your wedding invitations.

Wedding Invitations for All Weddings

Wedding Invitations and Wedding Announcements - Two Ways for Expressing Your Wedding Plans

Wedding invitations are the preferred method for inviting friends, coworkers, and loved ones to your planned wedding. However, for those who are unable to attend your ceremony, you should look for wedding announcements to ensure these people get all the details first hand. The announcement is usually sent after the event, while an invitation is ideal for invited guests to weddings.

Addressing Wedding Invitations for Formal Affairs

An customized invitation should indicate if your event is formal, informal or in between. Their design should be elegant, simple, and beautiful. When planning a formal event, the style of the bride stationary should set a formal tone, just as your invitation wording should also be formal. It is recommended that you avoid using abbreviated words like the year, street name, city, and address elements.

While browsing the many collections online, you'll quickly discover that the selections include numerous exclusive and unique designs suitable for formal events, including bride and groom images, hearts, doves, and wedding bells. You can take a look at the sample wordings, sayings and verses on the display cards, or you can add your own, or a combination of the two. And, a few sites will even add some free cards when your order includes a minimum quantity.

Stylish Wedding Announcements for Informing Those Not Attending

A trendy announcement is not quite the same as an invite. It is usually sent after the marriage has taken place, and the bride and groom have wed. These are ideal for announcing a marriage for couples who get married in private, or who have a small ceremony where only a select few attend the ceremony. And, these are often used to send to guests who live too far away to attend the actual ceremony.

Since you can send cards announcing your marriage to family and friends who were unable to go to your big event, why not make the announcement special by adding a photo? You can add a picture of the cake, your rings, or a picture of the happy couple. This way, they can share in the joy you experienced on your big day. Many e-commerce sites allow you to add any kind of photograph and then personalize and instantly preview it before paying!

Regardless of the kind of bride stationery you buy, you should carefully proof read your wording. It is often better to shop with sites with features that allow you to see your custom wedding invitations before you buy which puts you way ahead in ensuring you get exactly what you want.

Popcorn Cart Hire: The New Wedding Craze!

Popcorn hire is a great new affordable way to entertain your guests at weddings, parties and corporate events and staff parties, with the traditional red and black popcorn carts for a fairground feel or maybe a stylish chrome popcorn cart to add a bit of bling to your event! It's best to have trained staff to man your popcorn cart or machine, as it can be tricky using one if you have no experience, you may well end up burning more popcorn than you actually serve! Popcorn carts come in all different sizes from 4oz all the way up to 32oz, this is the size of the actual popcorn kettle that cooks the corn, so if you are using small single 1oz portioned popcorn bags its easy to work out how many portions can be popped at any one time, a 4oz kettle will give approximately four 1oz portions, an 8oz kettle will give eight 1oz portions and so on.

Popcorn carts are great for attracting visitors at exhibitions, the smell will drag the crowds over to your stand for sure, and after all who doesn't like the sweet taste and smell of fresh popcorn? The bags may be branded with your names, party date or even a company logo and/or stand number and is sure to be a talking point throughout the day, some companies even offer a "hustler" type service, this is where a member of staff wonders through your event or party with an American style hustler vending tray handing out the popcorn gaining more attention and serving more guests throughout. The popcorn can be made plain, sweet, salted and even different colours and flavours like blue raspberry, red strawberry and even delicious caramel, these choices will depend on your supplier and the availability of the products to themselves, but if you can we'd recommend the caramel popcorn!

It's a good idea to check your vendors insurance and the also check with your venue that there are no issues with using a popcorn hire service as some venues may have restrictions on what you may use and also strict insurance guide lines, for this reason it's always best to check this out before considering hiring a popcorn cart, also look at the different packages available to see which suits your needs the best, after all you wouldn't want six thousand portions of popcorn for a wedding reception with 50 guests would you?

A few fun facts about popcorn... Popcorn is quite a healthy snack (depending on your choice of flavourings) it's also thought to be one of the oldest snacks known to man, people have been enjoying popcorn for thousands of years, in 1948 popped kernel's were found estimated to be 5000 years old and were discovered in caves in New Mexico. It's also thought that Christopher Columbus introduced popcorn to Europeans in the late 15th century, the first commercial popcorn machine was made in Chicago in 1885, and the company still produces specialist equipment to this day! On average the popcorn kernels pop when they reach a temperature of approximately 175 degrees Celsius!

Shifting Fashion Style From Summer To Winter: Pashmina

Winter weather doesn't have to mean parting ways with feminine and colorful fabrics of summer months. In fact, it can be a time to let your imagination run wild and indulge in one of the most sensuous cloths - Pashmina. If you learn to wrap, tie, drape, and swaddle in some creative ways you will love Pashmina. It's a tried and true fabric for accentuating almost any fall outfit with some vibrant colors.

Persian pashm or cashmere wool has been made for thousands of years in the Himalayan regions of Nepal and India by the local people. Pashmina comes from a special breed of goat - the pashmina goat. It thrive on high mountains of Himalaya in India and nepal. These goats shed their winter coats every spring, provide luxurious wool the seed for Pashmina. Local craftsmen then hand-spin, weave and embroider some of the worlds most beautiful shawls and scarves.

Pashmina most often serves the pragmatic need of keeping us warm during those winter months, However, pashminas can also be used to enhance many outfits to add a dash of color with functionality. Consider, you are rushing out of work or to meet a date at the nearby restaurant with no time to change? Add a bold color to otherwise a boring business suit with a contemporary pashmina scarf around your neck. Attending a dinner for two at an upscale restaurant across town, wrap your bare shoulders in a luxurious embroidered pashmina shawl before walking out the door. Heading out for a fun fall day of window shopping and walking around town? Dress up your casual outfit with a matching but more ornate pashmina, gently draped around your neck and shoulders.

If these examples don't inspire your inner fashionista to run out and buy a pashmina in every shade imaginable, there are some less obvious but also creative uses to consider. Are you planning a fall wedding? colorful pashminas make original and practical gifts for your bridesmaids. You can buy them all in the same shade to go with the bridesmaids dresses, or mix and match for a more trendy and modern wedding party. The holiday season is upon us, and you know it takes time to plan what gift to give to your best friend and to your mother - Pasmina shawls would satisfy the most demanding of your fashion loving friends. For a newborn baby photoshoot, swaddle your precious budle of joy in a bright color, soft pashmina for some striking pictures.

We saved the best of the last, most pashminas are fairly inexpensive, so you can opt to buy a few and use them in all the different ways we discussed above, or let your creative thought meander away to see what you come up with! So, as summer greens fade into warm autumn tones, color your outfits with a vibrant pashmina. The fashionista in you will love it.

How To Make Cheap Wedding Invitations Look Great!

Cheap wedding invitations are great for your pocketbook. They can also look expensive if you take the time to put care in them.

If you are getting married, you know the importance of the invitation. A lot of your friends and relatives will judge your big day from the invite they receive. By making a few changes you can set a good impression.

Why not add some extra touches to a somewhat boring card. Maybe make a basic invitation and layer it on a nice color of card stock to match your wedding colors. Perhaps a ribbon tied in a bow will give extra class to it.

You can use your imagination. If you make your own, use a nice font and make sure everything matches. Adding clip art can help set a mood too. A traditional invitation is black ink on white or ivory cardstock. But with today's weddings, colored inks are becoming the tradition too. Just keep everything consistent.

Another idea is to computer address your envelopes to match your invitations. This will give a consistent look and really add an expensive touch. You might even choose to add clip art or a small photo on the envelope. You want to make sure they look good, yet not overdo.

There is no need to have cheap wedding invitations. You see the price you spend doesn't justify what your guests will perceive. It is the way they feel when they realize they are invited to your special day.

So take some time to map out what you want your wedding to be. Then decide what you can do with your wedding invitations to bring that out. It can be a lot of fun to start with that blank card and build on it. You will not only be inviting people you will be telling them what to expect.

Cheap wedding invitations by price, but the look says come and share our special day. That is the goal!

Bridezilla Warning Signs- Subtle & Not so Subtle

There is a bridezilla in every bride - there was one in me when I was getting married - the only question is whether it is controlled or not. The first step toward controlling it is recognizing the warning signs of the wedding disaster that has been named "Bridezilla".

The reason any bride can turn from sweet to a monster is simple: Every bride cares about her wedding day. But like anything, her focus can get twisted and the young woman who just wanted to create a perfect celebration of the love that she shares with her future husband can turn on the people she loves and before she knows it, she has missed the warning signs and bridezilla rears its fearsome mug.

Some bridezilla warning signs are subtle, giving the bride a flashing yellow light that the bride needs to slow down and regroup. A wise young lady will then take the opportunity to put everything back into perspective, refocusing on the people she loves and whom are working so hard to help her mount the celebration.

Other warning signs are anything but subtle. They are reality slapping you in the face announcing that you missed the subtle signs entirely and went straight to bridezilla. If you see yourself in any of the warning signs of this category it is time to hit your knees and make it right - because the dirty little secret is that a bridezilla ultimately ruins her own wedding.

Subtle Bridezilla Warning Signs:

A feeling that you are entitled to special treatment because it is your wedding. This ultimately is the basis for a good part of bridezilla behavior. Yes, it is reasonable to want to enjoy the season, but when your mindset starts going from enjoying your engagement period to making it all about you - that is the first subtle sign of bridezilla danger.

You spend hours on your online wedding registry looking to see what has been purchased and what hasn't. Or you simply find yourself expecting lavish gifts or bridal showers.

Thinking about your wedding day 24/7 and / or obsessing about every detail. Often a good sign that this is happening is when you find yourself having trouble making decisions or second guessing even your smallest decisions.

Online discussions with other brides are becoming an obsession, taking up hours of your time.

Not focusing on the marriage you are trying to build. When you find yourself thinking more about the wedding than you do about building the marriage you are trying to celebrate it is time to re-evaluate.

You discover that you are expecting perfection in your wedding rather than a celebration with your loved ones.

Slap You Upside the Head Bridezilla Warning Signs:

A member of your wedding party has stepped aside due to your behavior. In reality, if anyone has stepped aside a wise bride will do a careful self assessment to insure that the reason given was not simply a graceful exit to an uncomfortable situation.

You are dictating the personal grooming of your wedding party. There is a fine line between developing a theme for your wedding and being domineering. If your theme includes details that involve issues of personal grooming, talk to your bridal party early (preferably when you ask them to become part of your wedding party) and ask, don't tell. Ultimately their grooming is their business, not yours.

Your groom to be is sick of hearing you talk about the wedding. Remember, everyone loves a party and it's his wedding celebration as well as yours so if he is turned off by the subject chances are that bridezilla has reared her ugly head.

Micromanaging the wedding professionals you have hired to provide services. If you have done your homework and hired based on quality, experience, and skill you will only hurt their performance by trying to manage the details.

You find that you are arguing with virtually everyone from the members of your wedding party, to your Aunt Gracie, to your mother and beyond. Can you say, "Bridezilla"?

Your friends start to avoid you because you won't stop talking about the wedding, or worse, because you won't stop complaining about your own bridesmaids.

Your hairstylist and manicurist spends hours on you and "it's still not right!" Step back take a breath. Bridezilla has just invaded your wedding day.

Erupting because of a run in your nylon, a spill on a dress, or a broken nail. Save yourself a headache by getting or creating a wedding day survival kit in advance so you won't have reason to let these things get to you.

To be sure, you want your wedding day to be memorable. But you want it to be memorable because you celebrated your new marriage with the man you are building a healthy and happy relationship with. What you do not want is to join the multitude of former bridezillas who have to look back at their wedding day and say that the only thing that was wrong with their wedding was "me".

The good news is that you don't have to. Get a trusted sister (or other friend) to help you watch for the bridezilla warning signs. When one of you sees a danger sign, trust them when they raise the red flag and take time to refocus on what is important - your husband, and celebrating with your friends, quirks and all.

Creative Wedding Invitations - Do You Scrapbook?

Creative wedding invitations can be easy if you are already the type of person that combines pictures with a scrap booking hobby. Even if you don't scrap book you can get some great ideas for being creative with your invitations from what you already have. Almost everyone takes pictures these days and either makes a photo album in hard copy, or they keep their pictures in a file on their computer.

This is a goldmine of possibilities for you for your invitations. Search through your pictures and find some that include both you and your future spouse doing something uniquely you. Surely you have vacation photos, or pictures from your special outings together. Use the pictures to make something special.

When searching through the photos, find pictures that peak your interest as a fun and special time. These are what you are looking for. These bring out the feelings you are trying to get across to your guests. Now it's just a matter of choosing the actual invitations that you will add your pictures to in order to make truly creative wedding invitations.

Search around on line at the available options for you you to create these. You want to use the same approach as looking through the pictures. Narrow down the choices and choose something that stands out to you. When you find what you like, look through the options the company gives you for customizing these with your own photos or information. Many times you can upload your photos and just have them made right through the vendor.

Along with adding your photo, you can use your scrap booking kit to add some personal touches once the invitations arrive at your home. If you don't have a kit, they are very inexpensive to get at your local craft store. Use the tools in the kit to crop, cut, and add to your pictures. Have fun with this and there really is no limit to what you can create. Putting your personal touches here will let your personality and style shine through and let your guests know your wedding day will be a fun time.

A Helpful Overview for Obtaining Your Las Vegas Marriage License

How Easy Is It To Obtain a Marriage License in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas is one of the most exciting places to get married. A large number of couples get happily married in this beautiful city every year and lose their "single" status. Over 110,000 marriage licenses are issued in Las Vegas every year! A Las Vegas marriage license can be obtained very easily however. In most cases it gets issued the very same day. But there are a few things couples need to keep in mind before setting out to obtain a marriage license.

Requirements for obtaining the Wedding license Most of the requirements for obtaining the wedding license are the same for both U.S.and Non U.S.citizens. The partners must be of the opposite sex and everyone must pay the $60 marriage licensing fee to the courthouse when applying for the marriage license. This fee can be paid through different options such as a debit card or credit card. You will however need to provide some documents to establish your identity when applying. In all cases both parties must be present when applying for their marriage license. No Blood Tests Luckily there are no waiting periods as there are no blood tests. That is why a lot of wedding couples choose to have their wedding here.

What is Considered Valid Identification? U.S.citizens over the age 18 will need to show valid proof of adulthood to be issued a license. What satisfies the courts need for valid identification? A state issued driver's license, passport or any identification card issued by the state government will be sufficient. In the case of foreign natives, foreign birth certificates and a valid identification card such as proof of citizenship or permanent resident card are required.

Age Requirements: In case minor applicants below 18, their parents or guardians should be present. But if they are not available on that day, the couple must present an original notarized statement from them in English that should state their full name, relationship with the minor, his or her name, date of birth and their consent statement for minor's wedding.

Courthouse Information: The Las Vegas marriage bureau remains open all seven days and even during the holidays. Some holidays such as Valentine's Day, New Years Eve, Christmas and Thanksgiving Day are extremely popular among people for wedding. The courthouse used to be open 24 hours but now they have restricted their hours to 8:00 a.m.to 12:00(Midnight) seven days a week including holidays. If one is adventurous enough to get married during the holiday season, here is a tip that will help you. It is suggested that you use the online process that is now available to expedite service and avoid long lines. Express Window The courthouse online website has a service that allows you to fill out the marriage license online for express service at the marriage bureau. If you fill it out and submit your information, you are issued a number. Your information is kept on file until you go in. You do still have to both go in and be present with picture identification. However using this method you go through the express line and checkout at the express window instead of taking the risk of standing in long lines. You have better things to do right? When you go in you can go to the express window with your number with hopefully very little wait time. Better Idea to Apply During the Week It is a better idea to apply for your license during the week days. Whether you opt to fill out the online form or not the lines are comparatively less Monday through Thursday. In case any or both of the partners are divorced, the courthouse requires the exact date and location of the divorce decree. You might also need to show the proof, so it's a better idea to carry it along.

Is the License Valid World Wide? Your Las Vegas wedding license is valid throughout the world and is as valid as any other country's wedding license. So, you need not worry about anything. You do however need to follow the Nevada wedding laws. Make sure that you get married within a year of obtaining your license in the state of Nevada itself.

How Do You Know If Your Las Vegas Minister Is Valid? Las Vegas Ministers are required to be authorized by the State of Nevada to perform marriages. The Ministers have been required by the State of Nevada to obtain authorization to perform marriages. It's a good idea to call in and give the courthouse the Ministers name if you are leery of whether your chosen Minister is valid. The courthouse will be able to tell you immediately over the phone whether that Minister is licensed in the State of Nevada. There are very strict rules governing the issuance of this authorization. Check with the courthouse for licensing requirements for more information.

Do You Have to Get Married in a Church or Chapel? No. You can get married almost anywhere you want to. Las Vegas wedding Ministers do have their limits regarding where they perform wedding ceremonies however. If you are interested in having a ceremony outside of a church or chapel, find a Las Vegas Wedding Minister who does on location weddings. When contacting them, ask where they are willing to travel to. Classy and Inexpensive Location Choices A lot of couples are choosing to get married in their hotel suites or on the famous Las Vegas strip. Those options are very popular now and good alternative ideas for the couple who don't want the standard wedding chapel or church wedding. If you are interested in pursuing this option, having a ceremony in a scenic location can be a fun and inexpensive alternative to the typical Las Vegas Strip ceremony.

Some Ideas for DIY Classic Style Interior Designs for Your Home

Classic designs are widely diverse and include Victorian, Edwardian, Revival, Tudor and many other styles. Each era has different defining characteristics that may complement or oppose one another. Still, if you choose to mix different characters of classic styles to create a custom appearance, you cannot be blamed. Here are some ideas to design your home interior using a variety of classical styles.

1. Paint

Paint your room with colors such as light yellow, teak or off-white. These colors bring out the impression of lavishness and grandeur in a room.

2. Lighting

Choose yellow lighting rather than bright white lighting. This will elicit the warmth of a room, which is usually important to show in a classically designed room. Do not forget to add an old-style chandelier in your dining room, living room, or other room. Adjust the chandelier's size to the room's size, so that it will look well proportioned. As chandeliers can be very expensive, look for one at garage sales or flea markets to keep your budget from getting out of control.

3. Furniture

Choose shelves, tables, dressers and wardrobes made from wood. Classical styles very seldom use metal for the furniture except for garden chairs. If you want an upholstered sofa, opt for traditional design (instead of a contemporary one) with a floral pattern or pastel colors. Hang mirrors with wooden frames to add the aura of a bygone era.

4. Windows

Big windows are one of the renowned characteristics of classic designs. Large windows have more advantages over smaller ones; you will get more fresh air and save more electricity since during the daytime you will get natural light instead of from lamps.

5. Drapery

Along with large windows, come heavy, fine draperies to cover the windows. If you want to stick with the theme, opt for plain drapery with a gold lining. Or, to add more fun, match the drapery pattern with the pattern on your sofa.

6. Ornaments

You can hang paintings or mirrors on the wall. Mirrors, when placed at the perfect angle, will create the illusion of a larger space. This will be a plus if you actually have a small room. You can also consider placing a marble bust on a table, or if you really have a large place, put human sized statues to match with the classic theme.

7. Kitchen

Placing a wooden island in the center of your kitchen brings out the feeling of antiquity. Adding some ornaments or utensils made from bronze such as candlesticks and pots will not hurt your effort to present a classical design throughout your home.

Starting a Wedding Photography Business - The Details

So You've Got Talent

So you are a photographer and not just any type of photographer you are a wedding photographer. You've chosen a profession that will require many different skill sets, not the least of which is your ability to take a great picture. But there is a lot more to running a successful business than just having a service to offer. Many people have had a great idea or a special talent but have not been able to capitalize on that talent. This series of articles is intended to help you achieve your dream of working on your own, providing a unique service to deserving clients, and doing it all successfully.

The Real Cost of Wedding Photography Business

First and foremost let's get the necessities out of the way. If you're going into business as a wedding photographer there are certain things you are going to have to have at a minimum. Some photographers have done without some of the following items but to be honest I wouldn't suggest it. These are just the basics to get you started. You can build up your equipment later on. Each of the following items is listed within its own article:

• website (with a secure gallery for customers) and email

• marketing plan

• photography equipment and home office

• a second photographer

• insurance, taxes, business license and bank accounts

What's Not Listed

You'll notice that I didn't list photographic skill. When it comes to your skill as a wedding photographer I'm assuming you've already looked at your ability from an objective standpoint and determined that you do have something unique that others will want to pay for. If you have done this you'll also want to make sure you can handle the responsibility associated with wedding photography. This is an extremely special day in a couple's life so you have to be sure you are able to take on the immense responsibility of capturing every moment of that day. If you have both of those items then it's on to looking at the other aspects that make up a business owner's skill set, such as attention to detail, customer centric thinking, and patience.

The Devil's in the Details

Details can make or break a wedding photography business. This is important to realize up front. If you don't pay attention to those details you can easily falter. As a photographer you'll need to pay attention to the details of the wedding. Equally important you'll need to focus on the details of the business. These details include the wording on your wedding contract, the promises you make to your clients, your ability to keep track of the different weddings you might have at any given time. This leads us to the next important part, being customer centric.

The Customer's Always Right

There is a reason that corporations spend so much money on figuring out ways to make customers happy, because it's easier and cheaper to keep a customer than to get a new one. The same goes with the wedding photography biz. If you learn how to make your customers happy you'll get repeat business, referrals, and a better reputation within your community. There is no secret to making your customers happy. Here are some simple things to remember:

• Always deliver what you promise - if you say it will take 2 months to edit their photos it shouldn't take 2 and a half months

• Be quick about your replies - Wedding Photographers are notorious about not replying to emails and calls, set yourself apart by replying to all inquiries within 24 hours at the max

• Be courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful before, during, and after the wedding.

• Always keep in your thoughts that this is someone's special day - When you have edited your 30th wedding and you are looking at your 600th picture in that wedding remember that while this is a job to you, its someone's wedding day

• Don't be on time, be early - Being early to meetings, weddings, and events will allow you to prepare yourself for those events. It also has the added benefit of making you look more professional

• Dress appropriately - Black or natural colors are always a good choice for photographers. Dressing business casual for most weddings will be sufficient but always check with the couple if in doubt. ***Remember, while you should look professional, you should also be comfortable***

Patience is a Virtue

Remember that your photographic skill didn't happen spontaneously so don't expect that your business will boom over night. It takes work to make a business successful and even given all of the right ingredients it still might fail. Even if it fails, learn from your mistakes, try again, and try and try and try. Never give up on something as important to you as pursuing your dream. If you have to work a day job during the week while getting your business of the ground then so be it. If you have to learn how to design websites just to put up your own website, so be it. If you have to shoot weddings for free to build up a portfolio then so be it. Just don't give up.

How do I know all of this?

I'm the owner of a Pensacola wedding photography business. I have built my business from the ground up with no help from anyone else. I started by shooting weddings for free for friends and family members. My first cameras were consumer grade digital Rebels. I've upgraded everything along the way as I could afford it. I trained with a local wedding photographer and have always been into photography, web design and marketing. With these talents I created a solid business that exceeds my customers' expectations, stays profitable, and allows me to live comfortably based only my own skills. I've had failures along the way but have learned from them and have become one of the top Pensacola wedding photographers.

Read On

Please make sure to read the other articles in this series. They cover everything from websites to insurance but by no means are they the end all be all. Take what you can from what I have to offer and learn what you can from other sources. Be a sponge, soak it all in. It is my hopes that it will help you in your effort to run a successful wedding photography business.

Should You Consider Wedding Insurance?

Weddings are a big event, such a big event that many couples choose to take out wedding insurance to have some protection and peace of mind for this big day. Even small weddings can end up costing a fair amount and large weddings can cost several thousand. With this kind of investment it's easier to see why this insurance is becoming more popular.

What Is Wedding Insurance?

This type of insurance is designed to provide financial protection in case something goes wrong either during or before the ceremony and reception. There are a variety of problems that can occur before the big day and having to deal with a number of these problems proves stressful enough for most people without the thought of lost deposits or payments.

What Does It Cover?

Most of these policies are meant to help with certain issues that can cause extra out-of-pocket costs for the couple. It covers things like:

  • Cancellation. If a wedding needs to be canceled due to weather, accident or illness of member of the party some policies will help cover rescheduling.

  • Loss, theft or damage. Many policies will cover for loss, theft or damage of important components. This can include things like the rings, suites, dresses, flowers or presents.

  • Public liability. Most plans will protect the couple in the event of property damage resulting from the event or if someone attending the event has an accident.

  • Problems with pictures and video. If there is a problem with the wedding pictures or video some policies will pay to have them taken again with the same members of the wedding party.

  • Issues with suppliers. If one of the suppliers or vendors does not deliver or goes out of business some policies help recover payments and deposits. In some cases it can also help pay the costs of making other arrangements.

When Should You Get It?

Most companies recommend the wedding insurance policy should be chosen once the plans and organizing begin, when dates are booked and deposits are paid. Keep in mind insurers have limits about getting coverage too early or too close to the date of the big day.

Before making a final decision on a wedding insurance policy be sure to shop around to compare coverage and prices. Make sure you get the features you want from the coverage and at a price you can afford.

Wedding Cookies and Party Favors As Unique Wedding Centerpieces

Centerpieces are the focal point of any reception. They can be simple, elaborate, elegant, casual, and even quirky. No matter the design and no matter the price tag, centerpieces cannot highlight the reception or the wedding on its own; it needs to be in collaboration with the overall motif and theme of a wedding to best serve its purpose.

Contrary to popular opinion, a wedding centerpiece need not be expensive to be unique or inspiring. With a little ingenuity and creativity and a lot of research and window shopping, there is no question that the best wedding centerpiece can be found in the most unexpected items including edibles like wedding cookies.

For a beach, Caribbean or cruise themed parties, sailboat tea light holders in frosted glass, arrayed in groups of four to six on a table, make an elegant centerpiece for formal set-ups. For a more casual option, seashells personalized with names, monograms and wedding dates, laid stylishly on a handful of sand and tiny starfish should do the trick.

For garden, spring and summer themes, miniature bamboo and palm plants gathered in the center could serve as a refreshing centerpiece. Depending on the pots, hash tags and other embellishments like ribbon, these centerpieces could work for both formal and casual settings. Miniature flower pots filled to the brim with plants or edibles like candies, almonds, potpourri and packets of seeds are interesting alternative for the very casual-oriented couple. Fabric flower pens in pots when gathered in the center can be a fun and enjoyable centerpiece too. For very formal settings, mini bud vase, personalized with names and dates, when filled with the right flower will surely be adored.

For a polished, classic look, glass and silver creations would a fabulous wedding centerpiece. Personalized votive holders and glass photo coasters, grouped fashionably in the center would delight guests. Candle holders in snowflake form fits both classic settings and seasonal themed weddings, which also works for Chinese takeout box candle holders in frosted glass.

These ideas for wedding centerpieces are as innovative as they are sensible. These items can serve as party favors for guests to enjoy when they leave the party.

Lastly, for a very unique and sassy centerpiece, edible goods like wedding cookies might be a worthwhile road to venture into. Signature petit fours are elaborately decorated bite-sized cakes. When placed in layers or tower, these treats can serve as a sweet touch to even an elegant setting. Mini monogrammed brownie favor pops set in a glass or porcelain platter is an equally tasteful alternative too.

Wedding cookies in various styles serve the whims of both the casual and the fancy couples. Place wedding cookies in stylish platters to serve as a wedding centerpiece. Wedding cookies can take the form of playing cards, spades and dice for that Vegas themed wedding, fall leaves for autumn weddings, bees and flowers for spring wedding, snowflakes and mittens for holiday weddings, fortune cookies for Asian themes and tiered cakes and hearts for traditional weddings. For more formal settings, personalized photo cookies of the bride and groom in white, silver and platinum colors would be the ideal choice.

Decorating Your Wedding Invitations - Part One

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Excitement can quickly turn into stress, as the tally rapidly rises. Curve your stressors, have fun and make your day extra special by adding your own personal touch. This article will show you invaluable ways to decorate your wedding, on any kind of budget!

There's many decorations to be made; everything from handmade invitations, to decorating the wedding arch. Your face will glow with pride, to see so much of yourself in your wedding setting. An already very special day, will be made even more special - because your personality will be shining throughout. One more thing, there's no rule that says the groom can't help. If he enjoys making things with his hands, let him get involved also!

Make sure you read both parts of this addition. Part Two goes into decorating with flowers.

We'll start with the invitations. Use your imagination and creativity in all of the decorations you are making. Don't limit yourself to just the regular, common materials. When making your invitations, don't just think it has to be all paper! You can use virtually anything that strikes your fancy: wood, wallpaper, gems, pictures, material, scrapbook or other craft items, etc . . . If you imagine it, chances are you can make it! There are loads of information out there to help you: the internet, library, relatives, and friends, to just name a few.

One of the most unique invitations I've ever seen, was on plywood.

You'll need:

Plywood pieces for each guest - cut into the sizes you want to work with.

Material

Pictures

Decoupage Mix

Stain

Sander

Script Paper (or other paper for the background on back of invitation)

Printed Invitations

Painting Spatula/Spade

Scissors

Gold Craft Pen (or color to match your theme)

Any other craft supplies you want to add

Glue or Doublesided Tape

The first thing you need to do, is decide what style you want your wedding theme in. Find material, pictures and all other craft materials, which fit your decorating theme. Cut material into strips, cut the pictures out, and lay all your materials you'll need in front of you.

Center your picture in the middle of the plywood. Glue or doubleside tape it on. (Doublesided tape is tape that is sticky on both sides). Take the spatula and add a good mix of decoupage all around the edges of the picture, covering the whole front of your plywood. Let dry until tacky, (follow the instructions on the decoupage mix). Then add any other materials, craft supplies you want on the front with your picture - reapply decoupage to cover generously. Let completely dry.

After it's dried, cut off any excess materials. Sand all four edges of the wood. Now, turn over - it's time to do the back. You want the paper you chose for your background, to cover the whole piece of wood, on the back side. Glue, or doubleside tape it on. Then take your printed invitation, which you have printed on the computer, and center it in the middle. (You want your invitation to leave at least an 1 ½ inches on all sides, or more). Adhere it to the center. Now, take your craft pen and highlight some of the background paper, to give it a three dimensional look.

Congratulations, your beautiful invitations are complete. Now, get some friends to help you hand deliver them. For any that must be mailed, make sure you wrap them securely.

In keeping with the style you just made your invitations, you can now make place-setting name plates to go with them. A good trick is to use small, plate stands for these. You can also make placemats, in the same theme as the invitations. Just make the wood a little bigger, and decorate the same. It will add a wonderful touch to your wedding, and give your guests extra special mementos to take home.

Baby Shower Planning Ideas You Can Do On Your Own

Planning a baby shower takes a lot of hard work and patience. It's easier to plan than a wedding but harder to do than a regular party. This occasion is very special for the family as they are introducing the newborn child into their lives. With this reason, a baby shower should be prepared well. Everyone wants to have a joyous and celebratory time in honor of the mother-to-be.

Since the entire process can be difficult, here are a few baby shower planning ideas. These ideas will help you have a picture on how your baby's shower should look like. With these tips, you won't have to hire a professional planner and you can do it yourself.

The first thing you can put your mind into is the theme of the entire party. Having a theme will have a lot of benefits. It will give a direction that the entire party can base on including the decoration, games, giveaways, presents, food, and basically the whole atmosphere. With regards to choosing the theme, you have a lot of options. You can base the theme on something that the husband and wife like or something totally different. Some popular shower themes are nursery rhymes, baby animals, outer space, and safari. You can also choose to go with famous children stories or shows like Noah's Ark, Dr.Suess, Winnie the Pooh, or an entire theme based on Walt Disney movies.

With regards to the refreshments for the party, a great idea would be to incorporate your theme. Decorate the food containers and make the food itself relate to the theme. In a shower party, people commonly eat finger foods that they can enjoy while conversing with other members of the family. Basic foods include sandwiches, nuggets, chicken wings, assortment of fruits and vegetables, mini hamburgers and hotdogs, pizza, cheese with crackers, and chips with dip. For dessert, you need to have cupcakes or a cake just like any other party. The drinks of the shower usually include hot or cold refreshments like sodas, juices, coffee, and tea.

Many baby showers today aren't complete without games. Games are always meant to bring joy and laughter for the families and friends present. Some games are uniquely played in a baby shower so everyone will have a chance to experience something not usually played in other parties. One such game is called Guess Mommy's Tummy Size. Each participant will get a ball of yarn and pull out as much string they think represents the waistline of the mother. The winner will be the one who gets to guess the size right.

These baby shower planning ideas are here for your reference. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and come up with your own ideas. You can think of more themes that you think would be appreciated by all of the guests. Many people will remember the theme and the party if you choose wisely. You can also play around with the food suggestions. You can put more dishes that the mother-to-be wants. This is also a great way to showcase family recipes and traditional dishes. In terms of the games, there are many other types to choose from. Get around 3-4 games that are special for a baby shower and people will surely enjoy the celebrations.

Vintage Wedding Invitations - Add a Romantic and Timeless Feel to Your Wedding

Vintage wedding invitations are a popular choice for brides looking for something a bit different for their wedding stationery. Vintage designs add a touch of romance to your wedding celebration. They remind guests of a bygone eras, traditions and old fashion etiquette.

Distressed colours and materials create an authentic feel to your wedding stationery. Combine the distressed look with pastel or muted colours rather than bright colours.

Recently, lace wedding invitations have become popular, whether it be designs decorated with real lace or a printed pattern. Printing the patterns allows a flexibility with styles and colours. Where as real lace ribbon adds a texture and luxury feel to your wedding stationery.

Another popular choice for vintage wedding invitations is the printing technique of letterpress. Letterpress printing uses wooden or metal blocks to press ink onto the invitations. This technique creates an impression and is normally printed on very thick card or board. Letterpress printing is more expensive than other printing techniques due to the setting up time for the equipment. However, the quality and beauty of the printing technique is outstanding.

For a modern affordable option choose wedding stationery printed on a litho or digital printer. High quality prints can be achieved but the ink "rests" on the top of the paper rather than an indentation being created.

Possible Themes/Decorations to Consider

Possible decorations/themes for your vintage wedding invitations;

  • Lace

  • Ribbons

  • Buckles

  • Buttons

  • Soft Pastel Colours

  • Letterpress Printing

  • Floral Patterns

  • 1930s

  • 1940s

  • 1950s

If you want to make your stationery yourself take some A4 hammered card and print your names and wedding date on the front. Making sure to print on only one half of the card. Fold the card in half to create an A5 wedding invitation. Then glue a strip of lace down one side. Take a thin ribbon, around 3mm, wrap this over the lace and around the card. To complete tie the ribbon in a bow.

The Pros and Cons of a Beach Wedding

When planning a wedding, the location always comes in mind. Where will you have the wedding? Will have you it on your backyard or on a chapel? What about having it on a beach? Choosing the beach as a location will surely surprise the kids. Well, who would not like to go and enjoy the beach? However, before you choose this place as your location, you have to know its pros and cons. This article will help you in that matter.

Pros of a Beach Wedding:

• Cheaper. You don't need to pay the venue if you will have your big day on a beach. The beach is a public place (unless you will go to a private beach) and thus, you are free to use it. Moreover, with a beach wedding, there is no need to spend a fortune on the wedding decorations. Simple decorations would do.

• Relaxed atmosphere. The beach is a very relaxing place. The sand and the breeze can relieve any burden that a person might be carrying. Kids won't feel bored in anyway because they can play around while the ceremony is going on.

• The same venue for the ceremony and reception. If you will celebrate your marriage the traditional way, you will have the ceremony at the church and then the reception at a hotel or at your house. The rent of the hotel is another expense. However, that would no longer be an issue if you will have a beach wedding. After the ceremony, you can have the reception on the same spot as well.

Cons of a Beach Wedding:

• The weather is unpredictable. Due to the global warming, weather is already unpredictable. Even if it is summer, there is still a chance that it will rain. Therefore, you have to be prepared for any unexpected elements. Take tents, umbrellas and hats with you as these can save you regardless if the weather is too hot or if it is raining.

• Beach rules. Every beach has rules that must be followed. Make sure to check the rules of your preferred location to ensure that you will not violate any. There are some beaches that don't allow any alcoholic drinks within their premises. Check your preferred beach to see the things that are allowed and those that are prohibited.

Every location has its own pros and cons. If you are planning to have a beach wedding, make sure that you will consider the pros and cons that are outlined in this article.

Top 5 Ideas For a Stunning Baby Shower Centrepiece

Whether your baby shower is being held at home, at a restaurant or even in the office, a baby shower centrepiece helps to bring the whole theme together. Here are our 5 top baby shower centrepiece ideas.

1. The Nappy Cake

No, this isn't an edible cake made from nappies! It's a baby gift made from rolled nappies in the shape of a tiered wedding cake. They come in all shapes and sizes, from 1 tier simple cakes up to 4 or 5 tiers, sometimes even in the shape of baby bottles, prams, trains, cars & other clever designs. They can be made from just nappies, simply decorated with ribbon or wrapped in baby blankets & muslins & adorned with all manner of baby items such as soft toys, toiletries & baby clothing. If you know the gender of the baby the nappy cake can be made in the co-ordinating colour or kept in neutrals if the gender will be a surprise.

2. The Baby Bouquet

Made to look like a bouquet of flowers, this is actually made from rolled up baby clothing such as bodysuits, hats, bibs & socks interspersed with artificial flowers & foliage. Foam roses are very realistic and make a great companion to the clothing buds but you can buy many different types of artificial flowers and they don't have to cost a lot. Baby bouquets can be tricky though to make so if you aren't confident there are many available from various internet retailers.

3. The Washcloth Lollipop Bouquet

Each 'lollipop' is made from a rolled up baby washcloth (or flannel as they are also known), placed on top of a lollipop stick and wrapped in cellophane & secured with an elastic band, covered with ribbon. Other items of baby clothing would also work as well, such as bibs & bodysuits, especially ones with bold stripes for a more realistic 'lollipop' look. Make up around 10 or so of these lollipops and arrange in a cute bucket, tin or vase preferably in a colour co-ordinating colour (you can match the colours to the theme of the party). Use colourful paper shreds to fill the bucket and help to hold the lollipop sticks in place.

4. Baby Bath

A brilliant combination of practical gift and stunning centrepiece! Buy a baby bath (either to match the colour scheme of the party or to match a nursery theme you know the parents have chosen), and fill it with iridescent plastic shreds to look like water. Put in bath themed baby gifts such as rubber duckies, bath books, water squirters, bath toys & toiletries. All alternative is to use the baby bath as a container for some punch for the guests to drink - you could use some food colouring to change the colour to match the theme. Make sure though that it isn't alcoholic so that mum-to-be can enjoy it too!

5. Cupcake tower

There are two alternatives to this centrepiece. The first is to use real cupcakes, topped with tons of swirly buttercream icing in colours to match the theme, or covered with smooth fondant icing with baby related shapes on the top such as little fondant baby bodysuits, baby faces, rattles, bottles and so on. Buy or borrow a tiered cupcake stand to display them on.

The alternative is to make cupcakes made from baby clothing - socks and bibs are the easiest to use. Roll the socks to resemble the swirly icing or wrap the bibs into a ball and top with a baby related shaped card cut-out & stick on with a little double sided tape. Place each into a silicone cupcake case which can be used again and again. Place the cupcakes on the tiered stand for a visually stunning display which can all be used by the new parents.

Cheap Wedding - The Best Ways To Save Money On Wedding Costs

It is incredible just how much money a wedding costs these days; with a financial outlay in the region of twenty-five thousand dollars it is not surprising many couples are reluctant to commit. This figure is not surprising when people hire expensive limousines, florists, caterers and stationery, not to mention the cost of outfits for the day; the day should be about the couple, not what they have spent and a cheap wedding can still achieve this. Consider a few of the ideas detailed below if you would like to reduce your financial outlay; ideas that could help you achieve your dream day for less;

Low Cost Bespoke Wedding Gowns

Almost never considered are the costs associated with the hand made wedding dress; many brides sell their dress soon after they are married and this is a sensible way to reduce the cost. Many brides spend two to three thousand dollars (often more) on a wedding dress and only wear it once; why not make use of a beautiful dress that someone else has only worn once, for a fraction of the cost?

The Reception

With the wedding reception requiring the most planning and portion of the budget, this is the area to make reductions; you may need to reduce the number of guests attending, when planning your cheap wedding, because this is where most savings will take place. Don't invite everyone you know, in particular relatives you haven't seen since you were a child; as far as the meal is concerned why not have a buffet instead of a full, waited on, three course meal.

Although it is nice to hold the wedding reception in a beautiful hotel, this can be another huge expense but alternatives exist; there are many clubs that would be perfectly suitable or even the home of a good friend or relative that is large enough.

Wedding Pictures

As far as the photographer is concerned, why not just hire one for the service; most guests take cameras and will be happy to take photos at the reception and of course you will have plenty to choose from. If you really want to be 'avant guard', why pay for a photographer at all; these days most people know someone who is a keen, capable amateur photographer, and there is nothing wrong with asking them to take photos throughout the whole day.

Cheaper Wedding Invitations

If you're on a budget and looking for less expensive wedding stationery items, then you might like to consider print-at-home stationery; there are many online stationers that will offer this service free of charge and all you pay for is the paper and envelopes. With the correct programs, all the work can be checked fully before it is printed out; this means that often costly errors and adjustments that are often required in the early stages of the work are not made.

Flowers at the Wedding

If you want to reduce the cost of flowers, then how about this for an option; why not visit the local flower wholesaler where huge savings are possible, then all that's needed is a little imagination when it comes to the display. There is no reason why a friend or relative can't bake the wedding cake; this will save more money plus the traditional fruit cake does not have to be used as there are many other fillings that people enjoy.

The Wedding Transportation

One last thing: luxury limousines, although nice, are costly so ask someone you know if you can use their car and make further savings; they may even have a luxury car of their own.

Cheap weddings are possible without the wedding seeming it has been cost driven; the point is that guests enjoy the day!
