The bridesmaids dresses will usually be protected by your wedding insurance against damage or theft for three months prior to the wedding and for the duration of the wedding day itself. Each bridesmaids' dress will probably have been fitted or chosen especially for her, so you should make sure the dress is stored safely at all times. This storage is even more important as far as wedding insurance is concerned, as a claim for loss or theft will only be valid if the dress is stored with you or a member of the wedding party in a locked and secure place.
Bridesmaids' flowers will also usually be protected through your wedding insurance. You will have chosen a bouquet of flowers for your bridesmaids which fits the colour and theme for the day and made up of flowers which compliment both the bride and the bridesmaids' dresses. As your bouquets are personal to you and your bridesmaids, you will want to protect them against damage or theft; a dented or damaged bunch of flowers would not be the best arrangement to be carrying down the aisle.
The bridesmaids can look after their flowers by keeping them in a sturdy box and by making sure that no heavy objects are put on top of them in transit to the wedding venue. Like the dresses, you should also make sure that the flowers are kept in a well hidden and secure place before or after the wedding. Your insurance may pay up to the amount stated in your Schedule of cover for loss, damage or theft of flowers 36 hours prior to the wedding and up to 24 hours afterwards.
Whether your bridesmaids are your best friends or closest family members, you will want to make sure they enjoy the same level of financial protection as you do when you celebrate your marriage.
