Getting your guests to R.S.V.P. can be difficult. Wedding reply cards are a great way to make sure that your guests respond to your invitation. They should be included with your wedding invitations along with an envelope for the card, if applicable.
Choosing Your Reply Card
Many wedding invitation designs are part of a wedding stationery set which includes R.S.V.P. cards amongst other stationery items. If your chosen invitations that don't have matching cards then choose a simple plain design that will compliment any invite.
Wording
Some couples choose a simple "I/We Can/Cannot Attend" format for their reply cards. However, you can include extra information such as dietary requirements, meal choices and even a favourite song/artist request.
Reply by Date
It is a good idea to include a reply by date on your wedding invitations. I recommend that you pick a date at least two weeks before your wedding date. This gives you time to plan seating arrangements and guest numbers.
Postage
In order to encourage your guests to respond you might want to consider paying for the postage. You can buy large packs of stamps from your nearest Post Office or supermarket.
Chase Up
Even after all your hard work choosing the cards, sending them out and possibly paying for postage you will always find that some guests still do not respond. This can be frustrating as you cannot arrange your reception tables and confirm numbers to the venue and caterers. Unfortunately there is no way to get all your guests to respond, so the best answer is to contact them by phone or email.
