Unusual Places To Get Married

Getting engaged is an exciting time for any couple but before you hit the bridal boutiques and factory outlets to try on wedding dresses you really need to book the date and venue first. Where you will be saying 'I do' has an influence over the wedding dress style you will go for. From churches, to registry offices, hotels and country manors there are many places to get married, however have you considered one of these locations as your venue?

  • UK Parliament - Two rooms, the MP's dining hall and the Jubilee Room, have been approved by Westminster Council as venues for civil ceremonies.

  • Absolut Icebar - who needs snow for a winter wonderland wedding complete with snow queen wedding gown style. Guaranteed temperatures of below minus five as you say your vows before warming up for a reception in the Below Zero Restaurant.

  • Wing walking on a plane - for the thrill seekers in you why not exchange your vows stood on a plane. Just make sure you choose a wedding dress that can withstand high winds!

  • Disney World Wedding - we will leave it up to you whether you opt to dress up as Mickey and Minnie Mouse and have your guests in suitable Disney attire. Hundreds of couples have committed to each other in the Disney Pavillion.

  • Chester Zoo - perfect for all you animal lovers, Oakfield house is a popular choice for the ceremony as it overlooks all the animals.

  • Football Clubs - many football fans are choosing to tie the knot in their team's home ground. More and more clubs are offering this service where you exchange vows on the pitch whilst your guests watch in the stands. You could incorporate your team's colours in your bridal wear.

  • Natural History Museum - the famous London museum full of artefacts and stunning architecture has opened its doors to wedding ceremonies.

  • Tower Bridge - another famous London landmark, weddings are conducted in the Bride master's dining room with spectacular views onto the river Thames and other stunning buildings including the Tower of London. The reception can either be held in the Victorian engine room or in the high level walkways that are 140 feet above the river.

  • Kew Gardens - what a beautiful and stunning backdrop for your wedding day. With the ceremony held in Cambridge Cottage and the reception in Temperate House you may feel like you're in another world.

  • Alternatively there is the option to wed in a lighthouse in Scotland, deep underground in some mine caves in Wales or if you fancy getting wet why not exchange your vows under water during a scuba dive - now that would be an interesting wedding dress style to choose!
