Cheap Wedding Stationery - Money Saving Tips to Help You Reduce the Cost of Your Wedding

Cheap wedding stationery does not have to be cheap looking. There are many way to save money and still have stylish stationery.

  1. Don't send reply cards. Instead ask people to email or call you. If you have a wedding website you can ask your guests to reply through your website.

  2. Choose simple wedding invitations, perhaps a single sheet of card with your invitation details printed on the front. Avoid over complicated designs or designs with extra embellishments, such as ribbons, embossing or foil printing.

  3. Don't send save the date cards unless necessary. Save the date cards are advantageous for guests coming from further afield as they will need to make travel arrangements. Or if your wedding is during a popular holiday season. However, if this doesn't apply to you don't feel that you need to send them.

  4. Making your own. If you have a little creative flair then making your own can save you money. However, make sure to weigh up the costs in advance. The cost of paper, card and embellishments can add up. You also have to consider how much time it will take you.

  5. Sending your invites with your Christmas cards. Quite a number of couples choose this option as it reduces postage costs. Doing this also gives you an advantage in getting your wedding invitations out early, allowing plenty of time for your guests to RSVP.

  6. Order several items of stationery at the same time. This can save on delivery costs as many wedding stationers have a standard delivery price. And some will offer free delivery if you order over a certain amount. Plus if you are ordering a lot of stationery then you may be able to haggle a discount.

  7. Last tip, shop around. Some stationery is supplied by more than one wedding stationer. You may find that discounts of 10, 15 or even 20% are available.
