I have been printing invitation envelopes at home for years. The invitations that I made for my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary were done that way. I had numerous compliments on them. They were beautiful.
I also printed my own parents 50th Wedding Anniversary envelopes on my printer. Again, I had numerous compliments. My brother's friend said his wife loved them. She wondered who did them. He was proud to tell her his sister did them.
I have never heard anything but positive feed back from this. In many cases people wanted to do the same thing. I have taught my sister how to do this. I have taught my girl friend how to make a data base and do the envelope addressing also. It is easy to learn.
If you thought about using labels... why? It is so much easier to feed the envelopes. You save on the labels and you definitely get a much better look. No placing labels neatly and making sure they are straight.
When you print own wedding invitation envelopes you can get a nice look. I have added clip art to almost all of my invitation envelopes. I added my nieces photo on her graduation announcement envelopes. It is so easy to do.
Having a nice looking envelope for your guests to get out of their own mailbox is important. This is the first impression they have of your wedding. You really don't want to use labels. I think that is more commercial looking. By using the same font on all of your printed material you get a clean, neat look.
Wedding invitation envelopes printed at home can be very welcoming. You have so much control over how they look. Add some nice clip art and keep in the same ink color. This will make a very attractive wedding card package.
Using a good quality ink and printer, will make your envelopes nicer. I use Epson printers, I have for many years. The best part about using them is the water proof ink. As long as you buy the Epson name you will get good quality ink. It is water proof, smudge proof and fade resistant. I have cards and envelopes that are over 9 years old and they look great, still.
Wedding announcement envelopes printed at home can be extremely acceptable. The important part is that they look good and your guests feel important getting them.
A calligrapher will charge at least one dollar an envelope for hand addressing them. You can easily print your own wedding invitation envelopes for a few cents each. Why not make a great impression and print your own invitation envelopes.
