Calla Lilies are one of the most elegant flowers; just pure and simple beauty. And if you are having a Calla Lily theme wedding than most likely another theme will be 'simply elegant'. For a Calla Lily wedding the goal is to subtly incorporate calla lilies in all aspects of the wedding, although for the decorations allow simple yet stunning centerpieces speak for themselves.
My favorite source for planning a themed party is to use Google for research. You might be saying 'duh' to yourself but perhaps you aren't using it to its full ability. Read on for some wedding planning tips!
Start with the Invitations: If you want to set the 'scene' for your wedding from the very beginning, choose or design an invitation that incorporates a calla lily (or lilies) on it. A quick search on 'calla lily invitations' will give you many options and ideas.
Calla Lily Bouquet: For the next few categories I'm going to recommend turning to Google.com/Images for inspiration. If you haven't used this section of Google you are really missing out! To find it simply go to the Google homepage (Google.com) and then look in the upper left corner of your browser window. The link for 'Images' is to the right of 'Web'. Now, in the search bar type in "Calla Lily Bouquet" and hit enter (also try "Calla Lilies Bouquet"). You'll be amazed at how many gorgeous, yet different, wedding bouquet pictures are available. When you find one (or several) that you like, print out the picture and take to your florist.
Décor & Centerpieces: Once again, perform a similar search as above using the singular term as well as the plural. Try both term, "décor" and "centerpieces", after the name of the flower. Although you'll see a few of the same images a few will be different. You may have to go many pages deep to find something that 'speaks to you' but it will be worth it!
Calla Lily Wedding Cake: Yes, Google.com/Images has you covered here too. Bakeries that specialize in wedding cakes will do a beautiful job and will greatly appreciate it if you bring in pictures (that you've printed from your Google search) to provide direction to them. For cost savings you may want to bring the images in to your local bakery (including supermarket bakery) - I've seen some of the decorators there do incredible cakes for a fraction of the cost.
Party Favors: If you are planning on giving wedding favors there are so many readily available already 'in theme'. Simply perform a search on the term "Calla Lily Favors". When you click into a site from the search results you will, in most cases, click into a particular favor. Don't stop there! Perform a search on the term 'calla' to see if the site offers other items. Also, the vast majority of sites offer the same products (from the same manufacturers) so do some research to see who is offering the lowest price. Keep your eyes out for unique items, too, that you don't see on all the sites. Another lovely favor (if the climate is appropriate) is to give each of your guests their own small calla lily plant to take home to plant. Talk to a local florist or even your supermarket floral department for quantity pricing.
